Fundraising Begins With FUN Many riders successfully turn their fundraising efforts into creative outlets for the cause. We can help you propel your fundraising efforts to new heights as you ride toward a world free of MS. Keep in mind, the money you raise directly helps over 8,000 people in Arizona living with multiple sclerosis.
Here are some tips and tools to assist you as you fundraise for the Round Up Ride. All cyclists must turn in a minimum of $250 in pledge money to be allowed on the route.
Fun Fact: The average Bike MS participant raises $750!
Fundraising Kit The following links will open a PDF document in a new window.
Online Tools Once you are registered, log-in to your participant center and begin using the online tools already available to you. Your Participant Center allows you to design your own personal webpage, send 'sponsor me' emails to people in your address book, and automatically tracks your fundraising progress. It is one of the easiest ways to raise money for Bike MS. Please contact the Arizona Chapter if you need to set up a username or password.
Where the Money Goes It's more than just a ride! The money you and your team will raise supports the National MS Society who helps people affected by MS by funding cutting edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.

Turning in Pledge Money
ePledge The easiest way to raise money! Supporters can donate money to you with the click of a mouse. Once you've registered, direct donors to http://bikeaza.nationalMSsociety.org and tell them to click the 'donate' link. Make sure they have your full name and a credit card. To make it even easier, send them an email through your participant center asking them to support you. A link to your personal page is automatically included at the bottom of your message.
Mail-In Place donations into an envelope, include the name of the participant and the event, check to be sure you have adequate postage, and mail to:
National MS Society, Arizona Chapter 5025 E. Washington St., Ste 102 Phoenix, AZ 85034
You can also drop by the office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to turn in your money in-person and meet the staff!
Pledge by Phone If your supporters are paying by credit card, they can make a donation by calling the Arizona Chapter office at 480-968-2488, option 2, between 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. Make sure they have your full name and the name of the event (Bike MS) before they call.
Bring to Pledge Pick Up/Packet Pick Up Bring all of your pledge money with you to an upcoming Round Up Ride pledge pick up or packet pick up event.
Bring the Day of the Ride Envelopes will be provided. Be sure to have all information filled out on the envelope before turning it in.
Matching Gifts Does your employer participates in a Matching Gifts Program? If so, this is how you can utilize the program to double your pledges. Work smarter, not harder!
- Go to your Human Resource Department and ask if there is a Matching Gifts Program. If so...
- When an employee pledges you, get the Matching Gift form from your HR department, fill out the necessary information and sign it. *Note: Some companies will match volunteer hours with a financial contribution.
- Send the Matching Gift form along with the money to the Arizona Chapter office. We will do the rest! If the contribution was made online (using ePledge), just attach the online confirmation to the Matching Gift form and send to the Arizona Chapter office.
- The National MS Society will send in the form to the appropriate company. If you are eligible to have your pledges or volunteer hours matched, the company will issue a check for the appropriate amount. If you are not eligible, they will issue a letter stating that your pledges or volunteer hours cannot be matched. Depending on your company procedures, checks may be issued annually, quarterly, or in just weeks.
If you have questions regarding your Matching Gifts, please contact Jacqueline Valencia, AZ Chapter Office Manager, at 480-968-2488, option 2, extension 219.
